The secret history of street food

In this tour, guide Emma Parker, founder of Coutours, will dismiss the myth that street food was created at festivals by tracing its origins right back to Roman times. This walking tour will have a look at how Londoners ate over the years and why we relied on the city’s various street sellers and costermongers to provide us with such delights as hot sheep’s feet and codlings. We will taste delicious examples of street food including pies and oysters and many other delights on sale at our best food markets in London.
The tour will take in one of London’s street food markets e.g. Borough Market.
