Emergency numbers in the UK might be different from those you were familiar with in the country you lived before.

Keep them handy and remember that 999 or 112 are for life-threatening emergencies only.

Only use in the case of a life-threatening emergency, when a crime is in progress, someone suspected of a crime is nearby, when there is danger to life, when violence is being used or threatened. Otherwise refer to the below contacts.

101 Non-emergency Police

Call to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response. For example: your car has been stolen, your property has been damaged or to give the police information about crime in your area. Available 24 hours a day.

111 Non-emergency health issues

Speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you. Available 24 hours a day.
